They're fat and warm, but not boxy at all. Looking forward to trying the DSM through my Forte but am actually thinking of finding a used 65amps 1x12, which are really beautiful sounding cabs, especially when I owned some 65amps heads. EL84's, for obvious reasons, far less samples available). I ordered a DSM right after that experience. 1 I've been really into these amps, none local The PT-20 sounds fantastic, (a little more compressed than the other two) but I've really gravitated towards the Dirty Shirley Mini, (sounds 'fatter', more JCM), then there's the Runt 50, (I dig E元4's vs. Total difference in the low end! Though not as tight as my old Whiskey or the Friedman Smallbox in the shop, the low end suddenly had a nice chug, with definition. My Forte 1x12 with a Scumback H75PVC was in storage at the time, so I brought down my 65amps 2x12 loaded with a Scumback H75 and an H75PVC that I used to run my old 65amps Whiskey through. Even tried it through a Carr open back 2x12 that was in the shop and the low end was the same.įinally, the dealer told me to bring in my cabinet to try it out. Everything else about the amp though I really loved. Through that cab, the low end was farty total flub. The shop has the DSM connected to an oversized Bogner 2x12 closed back, but I don't know the speakers. I also don't play metal, but used to and that side of me wants a chugga-chugga feel every so often, even when I'm playing my usual hard rock/blues stuff. I have a Dirty Shirley Mini on order, but one of the things that concerned me while demoing it a lot at the local dealer was the low end.
